Does Obama’s Comments On Lettermen Make Him Sound Less Sexist Or More Sexist?

In Obama’s own words “Technically, had I meant it this way, she would be the lipstick. The failed policies of John McCain would be the pig.”
That is an exact quote from the show, removing all the “uhms” & other stammers.
I think it is naive to think he didn’t mean there to be any connection to Palin’s quote. But I do NOT think he was calling her a pig.
And I was defending him accordingly http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;… – untill I played the TiVo recording Of Obama’s comments on Letterman.
I still think it isn’t a great big deal, but I think he did make matters worse.

He made matters worse? for who?
There are far more other issues to focus on than what he meant by the statement. I think people are putting far too much emphasis on this whole thing.
the fact is mccain & palin’s policies are both “pig”
now let’s move on shall we?

This is the reason why they got Palin. So that anything Obama will say is sexist for them. They are playing the gender card. To someone always looking for it, everything will sound sexist.

He just really needs to shut his mouth…The more he talks, the less Presidential he looks….He is harming his own campaign, by keeping this issue alive. Whether he meant it or not, is not for me to judge, but it was still a gaffe, regardless of the intent.

He does meet the press & take the questions. He owns what he said & accepts other interpretations. That is part of what makes him a real change in Washington & a person who can work with others of differing views. He’s a dude in the youthful sense of the word.
andypa: That’s not a nice way to talk about McCain.
