How To Make Lips Super Soft?
Hey, so my lips are super, super dry -even worse than usual these days. Lots of lipsticks & glosses make my lips appear even more dry creating those white flakes on the lips -not very appealing. Also, even when I apply lip balm, about ten minutes later they’re dry & peeling again. Basically I need suggestions on an excellant lip exfoliant & balm. Price doesn’t matter too much -just nothing insanely priced like over $50 for a tiny tube.
I’ve used multiple products from Burt’s Bees, Chapstick brand, Blistex, Palmers, Nivea, Jack Black (I love this but right now it’s not even working), Paw Paw Ointment, Fresh Sugar Treatment, Caudalie, Soft Lips, & The Body Shop (both lip treatment products.. the green lipstick thing & the other one you put on afterwards).. & all of these have not worked for me. I guess if you’ve found something new & extraordinary from one of these however, please go ahead & suggest it.
Please do not suggest products with Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline because it totally kills my lips & I know it won’t work on me.
Thanks so much! Please give any answers that might help. 10 Points for Best Answer.

Girl, I am having the exact same problem right now! I’m finding out though that it is because I don’t drink enough water or fluids, period. Nothing is working to heal it other than drinking more water, but I can’t find anything to completely get rid of it. The best thing I can find to soothe my lips is Blistex Lip Medex, Carmex, & Vaseline. Yep, the old-school stuff… I hope you can find something! I know how miserable this is!
By the way that Nivea Kiss of Moisture is NOT for chapped lips! I used it for weeks trying to help mine, & it wasn’t doing anything! My lips absorb it so fast it doesn’t even soothe them. I think it is just a protectant for normal lips…?

1. First Exfoliate using a toothbrush. Make it so it starts getting numb
2. Then I use Smith’s Rosebud Salve (you can get this at Sephora or Ulta for $6-$10 http://sabrit.files.wordpress.com/2009/0…
3. Take a tiny bit of it & rub it in until it’s sorta blended in & not so sticky (this could take a while)
4. you can use this as a chapstick but use just a tiny bit or you are wasting it!
5. If you lips are still dry then exfoliate night & day & carry this around & if worse comes ot worst then use my secret weapon.
Secret Weapon: 1 cup of sugar, 1 tbs of honey, 5 tbs of olive oil.rub on lips either 3 times a week or 4 times a week
If this doesn’t help then you might want to see a dermotologist.
Hope this helps!

For my dry lips I make a home remedy!
Olive oil & sugar ! mix it up so their is more sugar than oil & coat in onto your lips(over the sink) then I scrub it into my lips! It feels so good also & is really relaxing. Then when I am all done I wash it off with water & maybe a towel. Then i brush my teeth & put on Burts bees chapstick! It makes my lips so soft & it is quick & free!

I know you said you used Burts Bees, but I find it really works. However, once the white flakes appear, take a little bit of sugar & rub it on your lips for a good twenty seconds to exfoliate it. The white things should go away. Don’t put water or lip gloss on your lips; that will dry it out even farther. Constantly apply a good chap stick; again, I usually use Burts Bees, but you said it didn’t work for you, so just use whatever usually works best for you & good luck!

What the heck?! 50 dollars?
There is an easy homemade solution you know… it really works too.
Put normal chapstick on & scrub your lips with a toothbrush.
It’s that easy.

Okay, this is what I do & it’s soooooo easy- & free. You just get an old toothbrush, wet it & scrub away at your lips, it makes them shinier. You should try it & if you do, I hope it helps

one of the tings i noticed a lot of people do is lick they lips a lot, this doesn’t help instead makes em dry faster, so don’t do that.

This trick works wonders for me!
Take an old toothbrush & put Vaseline or Pertolium Jelly on it. Gently rub the toothbrush in circular motions on your lips. It makes your lips super soft & it exfoliates all that dry skin off!

i use blistex silk & shine & it smells nice , & if you accidently lick it it does not taste ugly & it works it also makes your licks look shiny & atractive while it heals them

Try not to use anything with chemicals. I know that you said not to say vaseline but that should work because it only has one ingredient.
But the best thing to do is go to a pharmasists or doctor & see what they reccomend.

Okay, to exfoliate your lips you need to use a sugar scrub. (or salt)
sugar
extra virgin olive oil
toothbrush (soft bristles)
Just mix them together & exfoliate your lips. The olive oil is very moisturising! You can also use honey.

I asked the pharmacist one yr when my lips were so dry & nothing helped. He told me to get mouth wash any kind & use that for a few days that it sometimes is like a virus in your mouth that causes that to happen & he said just plain old vasaline & it worked great……….good luck

I know you said not to suggest Vaseline however in the past when you used it did you use it during the day? because if so, it is possible that it came off to soon to work. I apply right when im about to go to bed & that way your lips can absorb the moisture all night. That way (applying at night) works with pretty much anything for me. Hope it works out

Hey
My lips used to be disgusting.. like honestly.
Then I used Mac’s Lip Conditioner (SPF 15) & it worked wonders for me! I love it!
Also, if you want it to be tinted, try Mac’s Tinted Lip Conditioner (SPF 15)

You could try putting honey on your lips before you go to sleep. Its the only thing that worked for me, other products didnt do it. If you want to add a exfoliating factor you can add sugar to it.
