Does Anyone Need To Be Advised On How To Dress Professionally? ?

i can understand a few pointers or nudges in the right direction to newly recruited staff but is holding a seminar on ‘Dress for Success” really necessary?
Surely Banks today have more important things to worry about?
LONDON: The Bank of England has gathered much criticism after having held a seminar advising its female staff on what clothing, shoes & make-up to wear in the workplace.
The ‘Dress for Success’ lecture was organised by the bank, which hired a professional image consultancy firm for its female employees to hand out advice on the significance of wearing “proper” jewellery & make-up. Leaked details from the memo apparently also included word of caution against certain accessories that could make women workers resemble prostitutes, reports the Independent.
It read: “Look professional, not fashionable; be careful with perfume; always wear a heel of some sort maximum two inches; always wear some sort of makeup, even if it’s just lipstick.” It added: “Shoes & skirt must be the same colour. No-nos include ankle chains ‘professional, but not the one you want to be associated with’; white high heels; overstuffed handbags; an overload of rings, & double-pierced ears.”

Why Does Spencer Stand On Street Corners At Night Wearing Skimpy Outfits?

I was walking over to Gibby’s house for some foreplay when I saw Spencer standing on the street corner wearing some fishnet leggings, a leopard skirt with 5 dollar bills hanging out the sides, alligator skin high heels, gold hoops & he was applying lipstick. I was about to ask what he was doing, but then a man in a black van picked him up.. I haven’t seen him since last Tuesday.
What was he doing & what should I do?

Does Anyone Have Vintage Makeup Tips For This Black Girl?

i want to acheive that pinup girl/ vintage 1940s look makeup wise but every time i look up videos or websites that would help me apply the desired look, they’re always for Caucasian women & never for African American girls. are there no black rockabillies, or am i the only one? i’m not mixed or else i’d be able to use the same tips due to having that lighter skin tone. My skin is the color of a Crayola brown crayon, maybe a little darker. every site i’ve seen suggests ivory or cream or pearl to highlight my highbrow but nothing for my skin tone. And i need to know what blushes would look good on me without it standing out like pink baby powder on my cheeks. Also, i can’t find a bright red lipstick that looks godd against my skin but still has that pouty pop! is it good to outline my red lips with black liner? somebody? anybody? i’m desperate!

Does Anybody Have Any Makeup Tips?

Hi there :)
I was just wondering if anybody has any tips for makeup that would help me in applying it, or making it look better?
This is what I wear almost everyday to school, etc.
Clean&Clear ‘Pore Pefecting’ Moisturizer
Covergirl ‘Clean’ Foundation (normal skin)
Covergirl Loose Powder (portable looking container, with a built in kabuki brush at the top)
*sometimes if I have under-eye circles or blemishes I need to cover I have this Concealer stick that comes in a lipstick looking container with yellow undertones
Rimmel London Pack of three eyeshadows in brown shades (light, medium, dark)
Maybelline Brown Eyeliner pencil with a smudger tip
Covergirl Blush
I would love some tips on how to apply foundation & concealer & powder, but anything would be lovely.
Thanks so much!

Does Wearing Lipstick Make Your Boobs Grow Bigger?

My friend told me this, but was she messing with me? And would you need to apply it to your boobs or lips? Has anyone tried this?

What Does Feathering Mean When Applying Lipstick?

Feathering happens when the lipstick runs into the creases or tiny lines around your lips. You can prevent it with a primer (chapstick, putting concealer on lips, etc) or a lip liner.

Chapter One Hows Does It Sound To You?

I’m trying to write a book. This is the first chapter so far. How do you think it sounds? Would you read it? What should I change? I know there are a lot of spelling mistakes, the spell check on my laptop is busted & I’m not the best speller
***
Chapter 1 – Barely August 1st 2009
I woke with a start. The pieces of my dream were already slipping away. I tried to focus on certain parts hopping to remember them but right when I foucused on one it sliped away. Being myself I got quickly frusterted & gave up. I rolled over & checked the clock. It was 4:17 am. Of course… I couldn’t wake up at a normal time. I could still feel my heart pounding & could still feel the terror I had felt in my dreams causing adrline to pump through my vines. I knew going back not going to happen so I rolled out of bed & turned on the shower. The water heated up fast so I stepped in. The water was warm to me but it probably would be freezing to anyone else. I stood there for a mintue & tried to relax my tense muscles. Then I grabbed a bottle of vinalla scented shampoo & scurbbed my hair clean. A few mintues later I stepped out of the shower. I wrapped myself in one of those tiny hotal towels & went to my suitcase to get my clothes. I walked back into the bathroom to get ready. I was still working in today because I had to finish my report, so I pulled a brush through my hair & brushed my teeth. Then I pulled on a white sports bra & a pair of my black work pants. My hair was dry now so I debated wiether to leave it down or pull it back. It was shoulder blade length & it was flame red. It fell in curlys. Not widl curls but small & a mix between waves & curls. It was sometimes hard to pull into a bun but it got annoying when it was down & got into my face so I decided to pull it back. Then I pulled on a skin tight white undershirt. Over that I pulled on a back holster & slipped a Sig-Sauer p220 .45 cliber with an extra clip into the places… Oh, yeah, I’m an agent for the FBI. I put my arms through the arm holes of my white button down shirt. I buttoned up the buttons leaving a couple open at the top & pushed the sleeves up a little past my elbows. I grabbed my make-up bag & placed a couple things on the counter. I applied a little mascare & eyeliner around my eyes & a little bit of “rosewood” colored lipstick. I looked back from the mirror. After a couple of seconds I sighed. I looked older then my 29 years but still young. I was short at about 5’4 & I looked about 100 pounds. Of course I was actully 130 pounds. Most of it muscle. I had swimming, yoga, & running to thank for that. On my right ring finger was a ring. This ring was a custom made claddagh ring. My parents had given it to my on my 13th birthday. The band was silver & so were the hands. The heart was made of a beautiful ruby & suronded by saphires. It was faceing up because I was single. The crown was made of gold & had two small saphires & one small ruby in it. It was a beautiful ring that stood out against my pale skin. I barely had any curves & was like a B-cup. My red hair normal fell to my shoulders in curls & framed my face which was often described as childlike & delicate. I had medium sized lips, a delicate small nose, & high pretty cheekbones which were sprinkled with freckles. My eyes dominated my face though. They were wide & inncoent looking giving my face the whole childlike innocence. They were bright green & were framed by lashes of average length. All in all I guess you could say I was pretty in the non tradional way. Relizing how stuid I sounded I grapped my belt holster & clipped it to my waistband. It was the kind that made it look like you just tucked the gun into your waist band. Then I slipped my Glock model 22 .40 caliber into it & pulled the matching blazer for the pants on. I looked into the mirror. I looked like a 30-year-old office employ trying to impress my bosses. Also I looked total harmless. That thought made me smile. I could feel the two guns pressed to my back & waist & also the knives. On was strapped to my ancles, another to my uper arm & two more hidden in the chopstick like hair things I had just sliped in my bun. I couldn’t wait to get back home & not have to be so dressy, but of course since I was working with another office I dressed like this in an attepmt to get respect. Of course the first day I was here I relized that wouldn’t be necessary. On of the other agents had tried to flirt & was ziolating my personaly space… he had to wear a brace for two days on his arm. I walked over to the tiny table where I had some papers laid out & started the coffee machine. In a few mintues it was hissing & steming. I sat down & looked at the clock. It was now 5:45 am. Didn’t have to be at the FBI building in LA till 7:00 so I decide to get some work done here. I planned to leave the hotal early so I could get a lot of work done today & maybe leave tomorro

Does Anyone Else Think That This List Is Stupid?

This is a list created by St. Mary’s Catholic Church, & if 5 or more of these apply to you or your teenager, you or your child is a Gothic (please note “a Gothic”), & you need reform through the Lord for your soul to be saved, according to them, anyway.

36. Wears pins, stickers or anything else that contains these various phrases: “I’m so gothic, I’m dead”, “woe is me”, “I’m a goth”.
37. Claims to be a goth.
Apparently, if you have 5 or more, you’re in danger of hellfire. I have 19 of them, so according to these people, I am “a Gothic” & need “immediate reform through the Lord.”

Does This Sound Realistic?

In this Horror Novel I’m writing, a 19 year old girl works at a Pub called the Cheshire Cat (Yes it’s legal, if your 19 you can work with Alcohol, you just aren’t allowed to drink it until age 21) anyway, her pervy boss Jerome flirts with her, when she rejects him, he insults her, & makes her lock up at around 10pm as it’s a sunday or something. He leaves her all alone & goes home, as do the last remaining patrons & barstaff, our current main character, Natasha, the barmaid, cleans up a bit, puts stuff away, then goes to the bathroom to freshen up before locking it, (as she’s going to meet an old highschool sweetheart) as she is about to leave, somebody turns the jukebox on, & she is suddenly met with some oldie music. She goes to the jukebox eventually, before seeing in lipstick, it says turn around on the glass, she turns & screams & is attacked by a killer with a hatchet. Long story short, she is chased through pub & jumps through shut window to escape, killed with a hatchet to the back of the head, then the next day, they find she has been partially eaten by guarddogs, let out by the killer afterwards.
Anyway, besides all this: Would a pub have guard dogs to ward off thieves? That & anything unrealistic you see in the description.

If You Read This, Does It Capture Your Attention?

The room is dim as the scene flickers to life. The sparse furnishings, a couch, a coffee table, are doubled by their shadows on the nicotine-stained white walls. He moves about anxiously. A drab sage green sofa comes into focus. Cue the lights. The multi-colored flashbulbs sparkle against his raven hair like the yellow kitchen light sparkles against a brand new knife blade just as your abusive husband comes stomping up behind you. The narrow door in the corner slides open, letting in enough sunlight to momentarily ruin the effect. Her red vinyl peep-toe heels ring against the tile as she saunters in, cinematic, black bare-shouldered dress swishing, forcing a smile shaded with lipstick that matches her shoes perfectly.
“Well, hello there,” he greets her. “And who are we today, Miss Bettie Paige?”
“Ha, no,” she dismisses, picking up the low & skinny ruffled hemline of her dress. “Can we get on with this?”
“And why the hurry? It’s only the end of the world, dear.”
“Ha,” she scoffs again.
“Please, do sit down.”
She lights gingerly upon the sofa, crossing her ankles & folding her legs. The thigh-high slit in her dress parts just enough to reveal an alluring degree of porcelain skin. She places the papers on the time-worn table with a mild crash.
“Here it is,” she states, looking up from the papers & shifting her eyes to give him a quick once-over. “Couldn’t you have found something better to wear?”
He peruses his garments, faded jeans, plain black t-shirt, nice new denim jacket. A spark shines in his midnight eyes.
“Playing off your attraction, huh? It’s ok, I won’t tell”
“Ha.” She’s getting good mileage out of that syllable.
“Can I get you anything before we start?”
“No.”
Clickety-hiss, the film begins to roll, their presence etching into the celluloid in seventies home movie sepia tone. He steps through the kitchen door. She crosses her arms with a sigh & looks bored. Her sapphire eyes stare unwavering into the lens as she presses her lips together with impatience. But it does nicely refresh her lipstick. He sits on the other end of the couch & they face each other like morning talk show anchors. Then a lot of silence. They’ll have to try harder than this if they want an academy award. He starts to speak after several empty frames have sped by.
“You know you’re not much less than perfection.” That spark is in his eyes again.
“You know you’re not much less than caustic,” she replies. “Is there any reason for this? Or are you wasting time AND film?”
As if stricken by a sudden inspiration, he rises quickly from the sofa, crosses the room, takes an old rotary telephone out of the closet. He dials carefully, casting his eyes to the tops of their sockets as he struggles to remember a number. He looks as if his life hinges on that number.
“Hello,” he says. “Yes, hello. I am calling to inquire if your services are available today. They are? You can deliver on short notice, right?”
A pondering look crosses her face as she listens intently to the conversation.
“Ok, good,” he continues. “Yes, I’ll have the big value bucket please, extra crispy. And can I get some biscuits?”
She sighs with agitation & leans heavily into the creased cushions.
“May I leave now?” she inquires.
“No, wait a little bit.”
Click. Empty scene. Empty scene. Empty scene. Click again. The room flickers back into focus. He sits alone, on the floor, with the papers she brought strewn about.
He flips through the pages, petting them as if they were a basket of puppies. He pulls a glossy photograph from the middle of the stack. He takes a pair of scissors, cuts out one third of the photo & places it in his jacket pocket, tossing the rest to the floor. The clickety-hiss keeps going. He stares into the lens.
“Damn, the tape is rolling.”

Does Anyone Know The Perfect Lipstick Color For Brunette Hair And Brown Eyes?

I’m a brunette with brown eyes & fair skin. Whenever I have one of those makeup demos done, they tell me to stick to the brownish-pink shades of lipstick. They tell me not to go too light. It took me some time to get used to that, but it seems to work for me.

Does My Friend Have Potential As A Writer?

‘Luelle, over here!’ my best friend Angel shouted from somewhere in the busy school rush, waving her arms madly so I could spot her. Sure enough, I saw her pretty brunette head bob up a few times, & so I pushed my way through the crowd towards her. Before I could reach her, though, I was stopped by Alan Tennwick, that geek.
‘Oi, Lu-babes,’ Tennwick leered, a lustful glint in his eye. ‘Johnson said he fancies having a slap at your peachy ***.’
Disgusted, I flipped Tennwick the finger & worked my way through the mass of students to Angel, who was waiting on the other side. I noticed she had rolled up her regulation black pleated school skirt twice, that she had applied wine red lipgloss & dark brown mascara, & that she was beaming from ear to ear. I said happily, ‘Hey hun, what’s got you up dressed so nice? Want to impress a guy on the way home so you can ditch me?’ I teased her & her face flushed slightly.
‘No, no guY,’ she smiled, looking away to something & twiddling her glossy, naturally curly chestnut hair in her fingers. ‘Shall we get going then? We could go to yours – you have the biggest clothes collection I’ve ever seen, after all!’ She laughed & so did I – my ebony wardrobe was absolutely huge, & I still had designer bags with lots of clothes in shoved next to it!
‘Okay,’ I smiled, & shrugged my school bag back on my shoulder. We weaved our way through the students & out of those school gates for the weekend! I couldn’t wait. We had planned to go to the local pub to start off with, & then move on to the hottest night club in the city, Escapades, partying until four in the morning or later!
It was both our sixteenth birthdays, after all, & we sure could pass for eighteen! We looked like eighteen year olds, anyway. Angel was a tall brunette with tanned skin & grey eyes which I did adore actually. I was a slightly shorter, but still tall, natural platinum blonde with honey-brown eyes. We both had slim figures, but still had curves in the right places.
When we approached my new car, a sleek & sexy obsidian Lamborghini Murcielago, I flicked the switch for the car to unlock & it did so perfectly. I slid into the driver’s seat & Angel clambered in next to me, sighing at the feel of the comfortable lush seats. My dad had bought me this car for my birthday – it had cost over two hundred thousand pounds, but he could certainly afford that & it was so worth it.
Swiftly I started up the engine & soon we were rocketing up the motorway, driving at an extremely fast pace towards my family mansion, just outside Wiltshire, where my school, Dane Hall Secondary School (a mixed private school), resided. I & Angel kept up a friendly banter all the way, & when we reached my house, Angel gasped slightly like she always does. She may have an extravagant house, but my dad makes bloody loads. I often wonder how, but he never really tells us, & if he does, it’s so vague I can’t decipher a true answer.
Soon, we were walking through the extravagantly decorated hallway that led towards my bedroom, & I pushed open the beautifully made ebony double doors. I & Angel both had already kicked off our high heeled black school shoes around eight or nine corridors ago, so we just flopped on the extremely comfortable bed & relaxed for a minute.
Then Angel sat up & a gleeful smile spread across her face. ‘Now, Luelle, let’s raid your wardrobe.’
Three hours later, I & Angel were dressed up to the nines, looking quite sexy if I say so myself. I was wearing a tight black corset dress which was decorated by really cute blood red ribbon ties. It reached just past the middle of my alabaster thighs & skimmed my pert bum! I had my hair in a half up & half down style, with the two ponytails tied with a blood scarlet ribbon & the rest of my luminescent, shimmering blonde hair cascading down my back. With this I was wearing horizontally striped long socks which went roughly to my knees & were slightly different lengths – the stripes were black & blood red & had a red ribbon on each. With all this I wore my trusty old Converse & a touch of wine red lipstick.
Ever a fashion icon, Angel had decided to wear my cute gothic lolita black & aqua dress. It had a beautiful corset top but it went out for the skirt; a bit like a Fifties skirt. She also wore striped long socks – the same as mine except they were the black & turquoise version. She wore black & white Sketchers on her dainty feet & had applied wet-look mascara, clear shimmering lipgloss & a touch of liquid eyeliner, setting off the look. She even slid in a cute little turquoise star clip which seemed to sparkle beautifully!
Angel looked at me, winked, & said, ‘Okay, let’s go already, Lu!’ Identical grins spread across our beautifully made up faces & we sprinted through the many

Does A Kiss Really Have A Taste? For You Guys… Or Girls.?

It’s been bugging me since I’ve heard guys say that the girl they kissed with has a flavor o.O I mean they say it like ” You taste like vanilla.” or ” Taste like strawberries.”
I was thinking that maybe it’s just their lipstick or lipgloss. What do you guys (or girls, if this somehow applies to girls) think?

Does Anyone Know How I Can Add Colour To My Lips That Would Look Natural And Last Until I Remove It?

I wear Revlon ColorStay Liquid Foundation in Toast with Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder in Deep. My lips are for the most part brown with little bits of deep pinkish red. I’ve tried long wearing lipsticks but they dry out my lips & never lasts. I want to cover the uneven tone of my lips, look as natural as possible & for the product compliment my complexion as well as last through many kisses :-) What should I use? I would greatly appreciate your recommendations. Thanks.

How Does This Story Start Sound? (three Paragraphs)?

The party was totally fab. Nearly three hundred of us graduating seniors, plus everyone’s plus one. Guys in fancy suits & shiny shoes stayed near the bar, ordering virgin margaritas, & later spiking them with vodka. Girls in thousands of dollars worth of couture danced tipsily on the huge dance floor. I was in the centre of the girls, dancing with my best friend, Belle, & my boyfriend, Nate. Until they left me alone on the dance floor.
Dehydrated, I left the dance floor, looking for Belle & Nate. I headed toward a dark corner near the restrooms, fully intentding to redo my lipstick & leave. I trip over two entangled bodies, & found them to be Belle & Nate. Angry, I took my lipstick from my red quilted Chanel clutch, & applied it as I stormed out of the hotels grand ballroom.
I wasn’t even drunk. Not even near slightly tipsy. Even so, on my way home from that party, I died.
