I have quite oily skin. I use oil control cream before I put on my make-up but during the day it wears off & I end up looking like I have no make-up on anymore. I try to re-apply during the day but It is hard when I am at school.
I have quite sensitive skin & at the moment I use The Body Shop All-In-One-Face base & It works really good but does anyone know any brands (that I can get in the U.K shops ( Boots, Super-drug….)) that cover up oily skin but work really well?

I am going to a party & it is quite posh, I am wearing a black strapless dress with beads on the chest area. I am wearing black tights or no tights. I red lipstick & red nail varnish.I am wearing small pearl earrings & a little earl necklace I am wearing my hair up & my make-up is following a kind of 60’s look. Please if anyone has any idea’s (no matter how rude/mad) can you help me decide how to have my make-up & accessories.

Hi! I’m going to my really good friends bat mitzvah, & I really want to look nice. I don’t usually wear make up (except for lip gloss, & mascara for special occasions), so this is kind of new to me. Could you tell me what make up to wear & how to apply it? I’m 13 years old, & my dress is navy blue & black, & its strapless. I’m wearing black flats. I have brown hair that goes to the middle of my rib cage, & I have brown eyes. I think I’m going to wear my hair down. Me. I’m going to turn 15 in July… So I’m old enough to be wearing make up. ( not too much though )
I have really pale lips & I need to add some color to them! I can never find the right color lipstick or lipgloss.
I also don’t know if I should wear eyeliner on my eye.
I also want to know what eyeshadow color, & blend of colors I should wear.
I also want to know how to apply mineral powder so my skin looks really nice.
I always get the…… you already have a nice face you don’t need make up when I go to an appointment. ( which I don’t think i have a very nice face ) I’ve tried almost every make up place I’ve known & they’ve never really helped.

I brushed my teeth, sleepily, & rinsed my mouth. I put the brush back in its place, & splashed water on my face & forced my eyes open.
****. Another pimple had developed over night on my forehead. I rubbed the spot, making the pimple red.
Shuddering with the scary thought of the pimple, I left the bathroom, & headed up to my room. I went into my closet, & brought out my outfit of the day: a white semi-transparent cotton shirt, & a pair of black skinny jeans.
I matched it with red lipstick, & eyeliner & long lash mascara. My black bra showed through my lacy white shirt. Perfect! That should get all the hot guys’ attentions.
I went down to breakfast, after finishing the look with a purple Gucci tote. I tossed it on the sofa, & sat down at the dining table, where my step mother, Janice, was buttering a toast. She eyed me disdainfully.
“What are you wearing, Sarah”?” she asked, pointing the butter knife at me.
I looked down at myself. “What’s wrong with it?”
She looked at me as if the answer was the most obvious thing in the whole world. “Your black bra is showing through your white shirt!” she pointed out. “Can you please sober up a bit?”
I rolled my eyes. “Come on, Janice!” I said. “Get with it. This is in the vogue right now.”
Janice took a deep breath. Then she said, “I wish you would stop dressing like a total skank.” The last part came out as a whisper, but I caught it with my sharp ears, anyway.
“And I wish you would stop butting in my life, & keep out.” I tried to keep the words sugar coated, of course, but it was simply impossible to keep the hatred for her off my voice.
She was worse than an evil stepmother you read about in fairy tales. Because she was not exactly evil. She was somewhat annoying, & would never stop advising me about the way I dress. And I could never eat breakfast in peace until I dressed like Virgin Mary.
“You need to listen to Janice,” said my dad.
Did I mention the part where my dad butts in? The only solution now is that I carry my bowl of cereal to the backyard & eat in the company of our dim witted Labrador, Dolce, whom I really have a hard time to keep away from sniffing my bowl. I have to scream really loud at him before he would back off.
Then I picked up the bowl & headed off the backyard as per my usual routine. Kirsten & Mark, my eight year old step siblings were arguing, or rather screaming, about the channel dad had tuned the TV to. Mark yelled in my ear, “HBO!”
“Back off!” I snarled, & exited the room for some peace of mind.
I sat down on the porch steps, & ate my cornflakes. When I was finished, I dumped the bowl in the kitchen sink for the maid to clean it later on.
Then I grabbed my tote & twenty five dollars of allowance of the day. I took my red Mercedes Benz SL-Class keys & went into the garage. The four cars stood in a line.
I got into my Merc, & revved. I nearly hit the lamp post near the house, but I seldom cared, as this is the way I always drive, & have been driving for three years now. Until now, the lamp post has not suffered any kind of injury at all.
I drove to my school – St. Stephen’s Academy. I got a parking spot, & parked my car there.
I hoisted the tote on my shoulder, & walked up the huge stone steps. The school was one of the best in the whole of Miami.
I went over to my locker. The next locker to mine belonged to my best friend, Jessica Masterson. She was there, reading something.
I sneaked over to her, & said in her ear, “Boo!”
As usual, she just gave me her bored look, & told me to stop yelling every time I saw her, because it did not affect her at all.
“What are you reading?” I snatched the paper out of her hands. It was covered in pink little hearts. Sick, I tell you.
Jessica was a lesbian. But thankfully, she never, ever tried anything sexual with me, though I doubt she does not have any feelings about me. Yuck! She knew I was totally heterosexual.
“Ooh!” I teased her. “Love letter!”
The letter was from Sophia Burton, another notorious lesbo. I handed back it back to Jess. I could not read it much, on account the writing was overlapped with pink crayon.
“Thrilling, isn’t it?” Jess said dryly. “God, it was just one kiss. She wants to sleep with me already! Can you please explain me why? She’s not even very good looking!”
I don’t understand the chemistry between homosexuals, so I was the last person to know the reason why Sophia wanted to **** my best friend. Go ask a homosexual, I wanted to say.
“I am throwing a sleepover,” she said, tearing the letter. “It’s on for tonight. Lots of girls. You’re on the top of my list, of course. Don’t worry, most of the girls have their own boyfriends.”
I laughed. “I’ll come – even if it was an all lesbo party. But would have just made it sure that I would be sleeping in another room, of course.”

Why in the hell do women wear make up?
I believe women look more beautiful without it, in the first place. I think some women just look ridiculous when they’re wearing make-up. Is it a facade? Is it because they are hiding who they really are underneath behind some concealer, lipstick, eye shadow & mascara?
I don’t think men really care about what you apply on your face. Skin care & presentation are important, but guys will care more about what you look like naked (like no clothes no make-up, just you & your personality). I think a woman with a great presence & a wonderful personality will get much more men than a girl with make up on! It’s just so shallow!
And it ruins your face anyway! It ruins the essential beauty of women.
And why don’t men wear any? They used to! They look more imperfect than women anyway?

Hey, so my lips are super, super dry -even worse than usual these days. Lots of lipsticks & glosses make my lips appear even more dry creating those white flakes on the lips -not very appealing. Also, even when I apply lip balm, about ten minutes later they’re dry & peeling again. Basically I need suggestions on an excellant lip exfoliant & balm. Price doesn’t matter too much -just nothing insanely priced like over $50 for a tiny tube.
I’ve used multiple products from Burt’s Bees, Chapstick brand, Blistex, Palmers, Nivea, Jack Black (I love this but right now it’s not even working), Paw Paw Ointment, Fresh Sugar Treatment, Caudalie, Soft Lips, & The Body Shop (both lip treatment products.. the green lipstick thing & the other one you put on afterwards).. & all of these have not worked for me. I guess if you’ve found something new & extraordinary from one of these however, please go ahead & suggest it.
Please do not suggest products with Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline because it totally kills my lips & I know it won’t work on me.

My school uniform is kinda strict & i really want to make it look cuter on me personally from the hairstyle to the make-up to the socks. Also, I have blonde hair a little longer than my shoulders & blue eyes. Below is my school dress code.
Women’s Skirt: The skirt hem may be no higher than just above the knee, both in front & in back. Skirt hem should be within two inches of the ground when properly adjusted at the waist & kneeling on a level surface. Skirts must be worn at the waist. Colors are dark navy blue with red & white stripes.
Women’s Shirts: Solid white or navy. Tucked in at all times.
Womern’s Socks: Girls should wear solid color navy or white socks, tights, or hose.
Women’s Jewelry: Girls may wear one pair of short earrings only on the ear lobes. “Short” means that the earrings should not hang more than ½ inch below the ear lobe. Large hoops or other dangling or distracting earrings are not permitted. Loops are not to be larger than the size of a nickel. No body-piercing jewelry except traditionally-located earrings will be permitted. One simple ring on each hand is permitted. One wrist bracelet, one watch, & one small necklace are permissible. …I bought some today….I love the make up section! I bought some lovely Revlon ’sugar dust’ which you dab on your lips & it gives it a really crystal sparkle!…and a Playboy lipstick – I love the packaging!…and a basic face powder – but I needed one…Can’t wait to wear it all when I go out … Do you love applying make up? Its the best part of getting ready to me , & how about some of the gorgeous containers it all comes in? I love Versace stuff!
Who else loves being a girl???

I read an article recently that was about how women can be seperated into two camps… Those who don’t wear alot of make up & those who do.
Being a proud member of camp 2, I’ve often noticed that the “natural” women seem to think that us “heavies” (as the article referred to us) wear make up as a sort of shield, & it means we have low self esteem…?!
Personally, I don’t have low self esteem. I think the fact that I want to make the most of myself & take pride in my appearance demonstrates this. I don’t wear make up for anyone else. I just have fun applying it & have been fascinated by it since I was a little girl. Its something that I love to do & I’m good at it. Its a form of self expression. Some vibrant lipstick will keep you cheery all day. A smokey eye can turn you into a Femme Fatale for the evening.
I wear it most days but I don’t mind being seen without it. And I think the reason behind the “make up divide” isn’t that the “naturals” find make up tacky, or fake, or whatever else they say… Its simply that they don’t know how to put it on properly!
So maybe the camp is divided a little differently… those who never learned how to use make up & those who did!

My skin is a bit on the oily side. My make up just looks old in a very short time. Drug store brands, even Dept. store brands don’t work. Applying powder just shows lines & wrinkles. The “lasting” lipsticks are dry, & cake up. I’m in my late 40’s. The mascara thing is cool. It’s the foundation, eye make, blush, lipstick, etc. In film, especially the explicit type, lets face it; the girls are busy…regular film, sometimes they’re busy too. How do they do it? What products, where do I find them?

which lipstick color & in what style do i apply the shadow?

I am full Italian, & my skin tone is in the middle of fair & olive tone (if that makes sense). I have long, dark brown hair & goldish (real light brown) colored eyes. What is the best eye shadow color & eye liner color to make my eyes really pop. How do I wear the eyeliner? On top & bottom? What about shadow? How should I apply it? I have big rounded shaped eyes. What is a good blush & lipstick/gloss color too. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

Its a mix of students & non students aged 18 – 28 mostly with a few thirty-somethings as well. So far going to do the following:
-fancy dress (vegas theme)
-cocktails (1 nice punch, & then 2 main cocktails but guests will bring a bottle of something & will no doubt try mixing some others)
-decorations ie. hearts, baloons, banners
-some nibbles. thinking choc dipped strawberrys, then little chocolate hearts, loveheart sweeties, lolly pops & the usual chips n dips. any other food tips welcome.
-get in 2 boxes of wine & a case or two of beer
-vodka jelly shots.
I’m still looking for more food ideas, game ideas, decoration ideas & music.
Was thinkin about having an adult pinata with willy chocolates, red lipsticks, red nail varnishes, etc. in it for a laugh! what do you think?
