Lipstick Answers

I have an 8 year old stepdaughter. She is very protective of dad & after 15 months of marriage, things have not settled much. When she thinks her dad & I spend too much time together (she says whenever he pays attention to me instead of her), something always gets broke or the dog gets hurt. I used to let my husband deal with her but I’ve finally had it. I made her sit in timeout for 2 hours to keep her from destroying anything else. Recently she got caught stealing lipstick from a little girl at school & then tried to lie her way out of it. My husband was just going to talk to her. I told him that he really needs to discipline her so we grounded her for a week from TV, Wii, & her bike. Not 2 days later, she told another whopper of a lie. I know it’s going to take time. I just wanted opinions on whether I am overstepping my bounds as a stepmother. Any advice is welcome.

i can understand a few pointers or nudges in the right direction to newly recruited staff but is holding a seminar on ‘Dress for Success” really necessary?
Surely Banks today have more important things to worry about?

It read: “Look professional, not fashionable; be careful with perfume; always wear a heel of some sort maximum two inches; always wear some sort of makeup, even if it’s just lipstick.” It added: “Shoes & skirt must be the same colour. No-nos include ankle chains ‘professional, but not the one you want to be associated with’; white high heels; overstuffed handbags; an overload of rings, & double-pierced ears.”

I always wear cargo pants, hiking boots, a political t-shirt, red lipstick & a button covered cap. The consequence is that I look rather boring. I can’t wear tight clothing because it’s uncomfortable, I can’t wear silk, wool, fur or leather because I’m vegan & I can’t buy new shoes because shoes tend to be either nonvegan, sweatshop made or expensive. I like to wear the t-shirts & buttons because it helps me engage in conversations with the people who see & comment on them & open some peoples minds to issuess. So, I’m not getting rid of them. Do you have any advice on accessories that would jazz up outfit?

Im not really big on makeup, I hate the feeling of coverup. I have naturaul warm skin tones, & generally stick to brown shades of lipstick & eyeshadow always black eyeliner… I need to experiment more though, & I dont like how pink looks on my face… I like how cool shades look on people, so what “cool” shades work on warm toned women? I have brown hair w/ auburn highlights, hazel eyes, & I wear silver jewlery not gold ever. Looking for advice from more fashion inclined women & men please…

i don’t remember the movies but i saw them once & for the first movie i saw there was one scene that i remember, i think a girl is talking to a counselor or a teacher the girl told her that she finally has had sex, but it was with a girl. (or i dont think she told her that it was a girl) & the conselor/teacher gives her advice about sex or something.
now the other movie that i saw i remember a scene where the son has i think lipstick on his lips & she tells his mother that is there something wrong with him. ( i think the boy realizes that he’s gay or something like that)
sorry there isn’t alot of details but im hoping someone knows the name of any of the movies.

When I was in high school I was extremely active in theater, I was cast in every play, I participated in every musical, I designed sets, painted sets, designed & sold T-shirts- you name it- I did it.
My high school’s theater program became my identity. I did not associate with anyone outside of the performing arts hallway & I had felt as though I was “safe” in this realm (so to speak).
Our Theater Director was a 40 something woman who had battled anorexia & had become an exercises bulimic. She always dressed somewhat flashy / trashy & she divorced her husband my freshman year. My Junior year, she had started dating a 27 year old man (fresh out of the Navy). And she quickly allowed him to be our “sound guy”.
He was one of those men that you might look at & think he is attractive, but then he speaks & there is a definite “creep factor”. All of the girls picked up on this & none of my friends, nor I spoke to him & I would even say we went out of our way to avoid him.
During the end of my Junior year my Show Choir had a performance somewhere & my girlfriends & I put on our super red lipstick & went around kissing the windshields of our friends cars. (I know, its super gross to think we actually did this, but we were 17 years old & stupid)
ANYWAY,
some of the girls had kissed the director’s boyfriends car.
Everyone laughed & we all went on with the show.
The next day I was called into my directors office & with tears in her eyes she accused me of trying to “Steal” her boyfriend from her. I will never forget her telling me that I needed to think of the image I was portraying to others & that i needed to watch how i dressed & talked.

I tried explaining to her that other girls were doing it & without selling them out I just tried to settle the situation by saying it was disrespectful & I was sorry.
That was my junior year, & my senior year she never cast me in another show or accepted any of my help or designs. I was so disheartened that I withdrew my application sin the college theater programs I had planned on because I felt that she would not give me a fair referral.
I never said anything to my parents then because I felt as they maybe I did do something inappropriate & that maybe I deserved this… ? I just told them that my interest in theater had died.
I ended up telling my parents about it after graduation because the director actually wrote my friend a letter expressing how proud she was of her & being so upstanding as to not “tempt another’s mate” like I had.
It really hurt me… & it still hurts me to this day.
I know that I didn’t do anything wrong & I cannot let go of this sadness & anger toward her. Does anyone have any advice on how to move past this? I have thought about writing her a letter- but I don’t want to appear unstable.

hey, my names nessa, my grandparents are In my opinion…. Racist….. I believe this because they are highly discriminetory towards certain people & Things. For example, my grandpa says the ice cream man, a person who likes putting a smile on a kids face, is a ****** because in his words he says “a grown man passing out ice cream to little children, he’s a ******” ok first of all, I absolutely HATE that word & I don’t know what to do when things like this come up. The other day I was hugging a friend of mine who happens 2 be gay, my grandpa was waiting for me in the car as I said my goodbyes, when I got in the car he said who’s that? Your boyfriend & I said no, he likes boys, & he replied with “oh, well he wanted to barrow your lipstick then?” UGH I wanted to tell him exactly where to put his evil little remarks. But come on, he’s my family, I love him, & he is an elder, & I respect my elders. And my grandma, she gets angry because I have gay friends…. I am sorry but how can you get angry with me for my own personal beliefs that have NOTHING 2 do with you? I have gay friends, I love the gay community, I am for obama, I think there should be no such thing as a green card or “illegal alien” I believe people, no matter race, religion, skin color, or accent, should be aloud to come & go from the united states, as well as anywhere else. The united states somewhat dissapoints me on this aspect because they have fought for my slavery (I am African American) to end, & yet they turn their backs & say a Mexican cannot do something because of the place he/she comes from, & or their skin… How is that fare & how does that make America a free country? All I’m saying is, let us be REALLY free, & treat EVERYone, (except for criminals lol equally)

My husband & I have been together for 7 years & married for almost 2 years & last night we were fighting & he was drunk & insinuated but didn’t outright say that I let myself go & why don’t I dress up cute for him anymore. I am a stay at home mom to our beautiful almost 2 yr old daughter but I admit since I am home all day besides going to the park with our daughter, I just wear the most comfortable clothes like yoga pants & a tshirt. I am kind of a hippie girl & I don’t wear make-up, I wonder if I should start wearing it, does it make a difference that much? I have an eye condition which causes me not able to wear eye make-up. Should I try blush or lipstick? Uhh, I don’t know where to start. Maybe you can give me some tips on what to try as far as make-up & clothes go. I need advice. I got my hair trimmed about 3 weeks ago & it looks nice to me so I don’t think I have to change that just now. It sucks now having much money & then my husband makes this request of me to “get cute” again.

I’ve been doing makeup for about a little over a year now, & I’m not a professional at all, but I like to keep things professional, like with sanitizing my brushes & tools, & using disposable applicators.
Well prom is near, & I have a couple of people I’m doing makeup for, but their all my friends, & I really don’t know how to go about charging them, because their my friends & I just feel it would be awkward or something. I don’t charge over $20, just below, because I don’t do full makeup like I don’t do/have foundation or concealer, I just do eyeshadow, blush, & lipstick/gloss, & I feel that if I should charge over $20 that much I should at least do the whole face, right?
But my main problem is that, makeup is not cheap, there are some products I specifically only use on other people, but I do use some of my own personal, because my kit isn’t quite complete yet & I do need a few more items/things to put into my kit & actually buy a train case since my old one is broken, & I don’t know HOW to ask my friends, which i think is the REAL issue of me not charging. I just been waaaay to nice, & I feel like I might be taken advantage of later if I keep this up. I’m only 17, haven’t found a job yet, so doing this IS my job, & by not charging I’m loosing SO much money. So I just really need help/advice on how to ask & bring that up, without it being awkward.

It’s right on my lip & VERY noticeable! Boys think it’s gross & I’m scared they won’t want to date me in the future. I have very pink lips & then a brown birthmark smack in the middle. So how can I cover it up with foundation?I don’t want to wear lipstick because guys hate kissing girls with it. So what can I do??? I hate it & it makes me feel very insecure & self-conscious. Okay so I’m gonna be frank here, don’t all flame me because I’m coming clean. I acknowledge what I did was wrong. I need advice, not insults.
I’m on the beach with a circle of friends, one of the girls there has a red splotch on her bikini ( I don’t know her, friend of another friend). So I start shouting about ‘period girls’ at the top of my voice. Then I got Hannah’s lipstick & wrote -period girl- on the side of her rich mommys convertible. This girl was mortified & starts wailing, then skulks off.
Now my friends are all shunning me & wont return my calls. Apparently this period girl wont come out of her house or something. In my defence I was very drunk & the sun was really hot. What is the best way for me to make up with friends?

my lips are naturally like pink, but i have tan skin. i think it looks AWEFUL. the things i do to make my looks more red is sipping red gatorade & like biting my lips a little with it. im a dude so please dont recommend lipstick or anything like that. i also noticed that whenever i just eat anything, my lips turn redder. & chili peppers also kinda work.
